I missed my normal church service last week. I don’t miss often however I had an event with my wonderful wife. Lucky for me the program was available on-line within a day or so. I set aside the time to listen and take notes.

As my friend began to speak it reminded me of how important self talk really is to the outcome of our days.

Richard talked about the false names we give ourselves. I sat and wonder how many people are listening to what they say to themselves. What do you tell yourself when you make a silly mistake, misplace an item or stub your toe.

Be careful not to give yourselves false names such as stupid or tell yourself that you are losing your mind, or your an idiot.

What you tell yourself spoken or not becomes a thought, which leads to feeling and effects your behavior.

You are not stupid for making a mistake-you are human.

You are not losing your mind when you misplace something-you were just busy.

You are not an idiot for stubbing your toe-just not focused enough to where you were going.

Quit telling yourself lies like:

  • I’m not good enough.
  • I’m not smart enough.
  • I’m not perfect.
  • I cannot be trusted.

Start telling yourself things like:

  • I deserve it.
  • I can do it.
  • I am smart enough.

You want to change your world, change your thoughts. Your actions will follow.

Thank you for spending a few minutes with me today.

No go out there and win the day!
