One of the great things about writing your own blog is you can share the really important parts of your life. The learning lessons that make your life worth living. Building long term relationships take work but can be amazing either at work or at home. I think the same characteristics are needed for all relationships.

I have to share a little bit about my relationship with my wife, hope she does not mind, but here goes.

I was preparing to head out for my travels for the week. I had packed my clothes in my soft carry bag, I went into my office and cleared my desk and packed my computer bag with all the needed files and chargers (if you travel you know what I mean).

It was time to say good-bye to my wife for the week once again as I have for the past fifteen years. I placed my bags in the car and she met me in the garage and I had this great feeling of calmness. I am not sure where it came from and all I could think is how lucky I was to have such a great relationship. And as I stood there giving my wife a hug my mind thought what is so different? And then it hit me.

Rockie (Rojelia) my wife and I had developed respect, honesty, trust, loyalty and transparency in our relationship over time. I felt closer to her than ever.

When you think about building relationships, how are you doing?

Sometimes it takes time for greatness to grow.

Thanks for spending a few minutes with me today.
