Protect your time to protect your goals.

You know setting boundaries for your yard is much easier than setting boundaries for mind.

When you want to set the boundaries for your yard you have your lot surveyed, you call the local fence company to come out and build a fence. In the next day or so you have set boundaries. This boundary serves many purposes such as keeping your dog safe, or keeping the neighbors dog out on your yard. It gives you privacy, and you know exactly how far you can go without getting into someone else’s property.

You can set boundaries for relationships such as work relationships versus friendships.

One area I struggle from time to time is setting boundaries for my time. Trying to live a balanced life I feel like I get pulled in a lot of directions. I have my job, and for most of us our jobs are very demanding. We have a schedule and responsibilities, deadlines and commitments and don’t forget traveling.

Spiritual, church, and wanting to give more. More time and more money.

Relationships, I love being married. My wife is awesome. Sometimes your spouse has other ideas for your time than you knew.

Do you see my point? I believe if you set the time in advance and stick to it you will be able to accomplish more than you ever thought possible. You may have to lose the phone on date night to get the most of your time.

Know in advance what you’ll do in advance. Make sure your partner knows your plans and is on-board. There are seasons in life when you work more and then there are other times when you play more. Make sure you know which season it is for you.
