Since we have been talking about desire I thought I would share a few quotes today. Some of these quotes are hundreds of years old. It is amazing to me that those words written so long ago can still capture our attention.

  • Plant the seed of desire in your mind and it forms a nucleus with power to attract to itself everything needed for its fulfillment.” – Robert Collier”
  • Desire is the starting point of all achievement, not a hope, not a wish, but a keen pulsating desire which transcends everything.” – Napoleon Hill
  • We are told that talent creates its own opportunities. But it sometimes seems that intense desire creates not only its own opportunities, but its own talents.” – Eric Hoffer
  • When desire dies, fear is born.” – Baltasar Gracian

Some great words with very true meaning. The list goes on and on. Many great philosophers wrote about desire.

One of those well known writers was Napoleon Hill who lived between 1883-1970. Maybe he says it best, “weak desire brings weak results”, or The starting point of all achievement is desire. Those thoughts resonate with me.

From what I have read and studied desire comes from our why, our emotions. If you follow this blog you know I believe emotion drives our behaviors and our thoughts. Anyone who has ever had a difficult relationship, lost a loved one, or been cut off driving down the highway understands how much emotions play a role in our everyday lives. They change quickly, and replace the other thoughts in our mind.

What emotion drives your desire to move forward in progress?

That, my friend is the million dollar question.

Thanks and have a great day
