Intelligence Versus Activity
22 Nov 2016
Did you know we have had un-college educated Presidents in the past? Nine to be exact Washington, Jackson, Van Buren, Harrison, Filmore, Jackson, Cleveland, McKinney and Truman. The leader of the strongest country in the world and no college to boost their intelligence.
This may be even easier to digest, some of the greatest, wealthiest success stories in the past fifty years in which they have not graduated with a college education. People such as Rachel Ray (cooking), Dave Thomas (Wendy’s), Richard Branson (Virgin Brands), Steve Wozniak and Steve Jobs (Apple), how did they do it?”
In reading the book “The Magic of Thinking Big” the author David J Swartz spends a lot of time and words describing how intelligence is important, but not the most important component of success. He says “the thinking that guides your intelligence is much more important than how much intelligence you many have.”
This article is not saying a college education is not important, what I am saying is you can have success without a formal education. A formal education will give you a great deal of information, and a leg up on much of the competition.
The key is what do you do with the education?
If you are like me and do not have a formal education than start by reading a book or even better write your own book. There is a great deal of education as you document what you know on paper.
The more you read, the more information you have to use as you move closer to the life of your dreams.
No excuses, show me you want success and go and get it.
Thanks for spending a few minutes with me today.
