Let’s define courage.
The Merriam-Webster’s Collegiate Dictionary defines courage as “mental or moral strength to venture, persevere, and withstand danger, fear or difficulty”.
This definition followed by the following words: mettle, spirit, resolution, tenacity.
Having courage is a BIG thing. And if facing fear is part of courage then we all must be courageous.
Here is something you must understand. If you are not willing to face fear, then you are not moving forward. You are either not moving or most likely going backwards.
Here is the great thing about fear. Once you face fear, the feelings of anxiety start to dissipate and become less. It is much like riding a roller coaster or jumping off a platform high above the water. We have the fear and overcome it by jumping in. The fear has lost it’s grip becomes fun. You ride the scary roller coaster, you exit and get back in line to do it again.
One of my goals is to be more courageous in the coming year with my effort. I have noted a few things that intimidate me a bit. They are now on my calendar. I am going to have fun.
What about you? Are you tired of running away from your fears or are you willing to move past them?
I hope you chose to move past them. There is so much more out there for you to conquer.
Thank you for joining me today.
